Alma Kegley Hubble age 93, passed away Tuesday, October 7, 2025 at Carrington Place of Wytheville.
Alma was a graduate of Marion College, earned her BS at Radford College, and her MS at the University of Virginia. She was a teacher for over 40 years, the majority spent teaching 1st grade. Alma was an avid gardener, she enjoyed sewing and quilting, and was a talented cook - with fried chicken and chocolate fudge being the top 2 family favorites. Alma was her husband Bob’s partner in church matters and in life. She was active in church and was the treasurer of the Zion Cemetery Fund for many years. Alma’s favorite way to spend time was with her family, doting on her grandchildren and great-grandchildren and being simply the best “GaGa” they could ever ask for.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, James R. “Bob” Hubble; parents, Thomas Sr. & Mallie Kegley; siblings, William S. Kegley Sr., Christine Kegley, and Byron Kegley.
Alma is survived by her daughter, Debbie Casola and husband, Bill of Ashburn, VA; son, Jerry Hubble and wife, Anne of Andersonville, TN; sisters, Ann Braun of Swansea, IL, Rosemary Poskas and husband, Ronnie of Georgetown, KY; brothers, Joe Kegley and wife, Debbie, Tommy Kegley and wife, “Sis”, all of Nebo, VA.; grandsons, Robert Hubble and wife, Heather, David Hubble and wife, Samantha, Joseph Casola and wife, Julie, and Daniel Casola and wife, Jess; great-grandchildren, Alaina Hubble, Nathan Hubble, James Hubble, Lily Hubble, John Hubble, Connor Casola, Aurora Casola and Madelyn Casola; sisters-in-law, Elaine Kegley and Barbara Kegley; several nieces and nephews and their families.
Family will receive friends Friday, October 10, 2025 from 5 until 7 p.m. at Fraziers’ Seaver-Brown Chapel, 237 East Main Street, Marion, VA. Funeral services will be held Saturday, October 11, 2025 at 11 a.m. at New Zion Church, 3171 Old Rich Valley Road, Ceres VA. Burial will follow in Zion Cemetery.
