Saltville, Va. ZANE THOMPSON MALOYED, age 57 died Wednesday, September 14, 2016 at his home in Saltville, Va. He was born on June 8, 1959 in Kansas City, Kan. Zane was a family man who always placed his family first! He was crazy about his grandchildren and they loved their “Papaw.” You may have tried, and his son-in-law Daniel did, however, you would never out log or out weld Zane! He loved his work, and it was evident but, he was happiest spending time with his family! Zane was preceded in death by his aunt, Doris Swanson. Family remaining to cherish his memory include his daughter, Jamie Blackburn and husband, Daniel, of Marion, Va.; his parents, Wyle and Dorothy Maloyd; sisters, Tamara Madden and husband, Michael, and Pamela Jean Blain and husband, Ross, all of Pennsylvania; brother, Alan Maloyed and wife, Kate, also of Pennsylvania; 3 grandchildren, Calie, Taylor and Colton Blackburn, all of Marion; special friends, June-Bug Carter and Michael Doane; and numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, September 17, 2016 at Ridgedale United Methodist Church, 1112 Ridgedale Rd., Saltville, Va. at 2 p.m., with Rev. Gary Trout and Rev. Mack Blevins officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends on Friday, September 16, 2016 from 6 until 8 p.m. at Ridgedale United Methodist Church. In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate help with Mr. Maloyed's final expenses. Donations may be made to Seaver Brown Funeral Service, Post Office Box 427, Marion, Virginia 24354. I just saw this. I am so sorry for your loss. I didn't know Zane well but I knew his Grandmother so well and Loved her. I called her aunt all my life even though she was a 2nd cousin because she was always so sweet to my sisters and me. God bless you all in your grief and know that it gets easier as time passes. I lost my parents and my best friends when I was in my 20's and 30's and thought I was lost but time eases the pain and you start just remembering the good times and the funny things they said or did.

Zane was one of the best guys I have ever met, he always stayed positive even throughout battling his sickness. Zane want have to suffer anymore and in his new home in heaven he will have no worries, pain, or suffering. He may be gone but many will never forget him he was a great person an would do anything he could to help people. Rest In Peace Zane.
