Okie Mae Woods

TEAS, Va.: Okie Mae (Granny Okie) Woods, age 86, went home to be with the Lord, Tuesday, December 29, 2015. She was born May 29, 1929 to the late Henry Wade and Sarah Ayers Campbell in Teas, Va. Granny Okie loved to cook and provide for others. Her family was everything to her and her grandchildren were certainly the apple of her eye. Family gatherings were a favorite pastime. She also enjoyed card games; Yahtzee and Uno being a couple of her favorites. If not playing cards or enjoying the company of her family she could be found watching Family Feud. Above all she will be remembered as a loving, wife, mother, grandmother and friend to all who knew her. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband of 50+ years, Claude Edward Woods and great-grandson, Jacob Scott Kelly. Family remaining to cherish her memory includes, four sons, Wayne Woods and wife, Brenda of Marion, Va., Blaine Woods and special friend, Ronda Delp of Teas, Va., Dan Woods and wife, Vickie of Sugar Grove, Va., and Jeff Woods and wife, Teresa of Marion, Va.; favorite daughter-granddaughter, Missy Woods of Adwolfe, Va.; sister, Gay Kirk of Marion, Va.; brother, June Campbell and wife, Stella Mae of Marion, Va.; six grandchildren, Bobbie Jean Crouse, Rebecca Kidd, Sarah Buckingham, Whitney Richardson, Shelby Farris and Mason Woods; ten great-grandchildren; special friend, Lori Martin of Sugar Grove, Va.; and numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral Services will be held Saturday, January 2, 2016 at 1 p.m. at Seaver-Brown Chapel with Reverend Herman Cress officiating. Burial will follow in Pugh Cemetery, Sugar Grove, Va. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Expressions of sympathy may be made to the family at www.seaverbrown.com.
