Kevin Carl Soos

MARION, Va.

Kevin Carl Soos, age 62, died, Monday, November 13, 2017 at his home in Marion, Va.

For over 30 years radio listeners in Smyth County heard the familiar voice of Kevin Soos on WOLD. Kevin was the kindest, most gentle man and his intelligence was astounding. Kevin was a proud Mensa Club member and a part of the Marion Jaycees. The last nine years of his life were spent loving his two cats, Ace and Baby, with his best friend and soulmate, Lynn. Other than his faith, his family was the light of his life.

Kevin was preceded in death by his parents, Jimmie and Eileen Soos.

He is survived by his wife, Lynn Soos of Marion, Va.; sister, Joyce Kight and husband, Ken of Kuyahoga Falls, Ohio; brother, Jim Soos of Moultrie, Ga.; and several nieces and nephews.

Memorial services will be held Saturday, November 18, 2017 at 11 a.m. at Seaver-Brown Chapel with Mr. Howard Burton, Mr. Darren Starkey and the Reverend Alan Gray officiating.

Expressions of sympathy may be made to the family at www.seaverbrown.com. Seaver-Brown Funeral Service and Crematory is honored to serve the family of Kevin Carl Soos.

Guestbook

I am saddened to hear of Kevin's death. I grew up in Marion and were friends with the Soos family from the age of seven or so. Kevin and I were close once upon a time. I was so happy when he met Lynn. He was a kind, sweet soul and deserved much love and happiness. Lynn, I am sorry we never met. If there is anything I can do for you, let me know. Please take care of yourself. Christie

I was a school classmate of Kevin's in grade school along with Danny Tilson. Many moons ago for sure. Kevin was always a quite individual but a very kind soul. I started my first radio ministry at WMEV and shortly thereafter I started a radio program at WOLD called "Don't Turn Him Away". Once again I crossed paths with my old friend Kevin. Standing in front of that microphone and looking just beyond that plate glass window there sat Kevin smiling and listening to my words. Many of a conversation followed those 12:35 Sunday programs. Kevin along with his kind voice will be highly missed. My prayers is for God's grace to be there for his family.

Kevin was a great guy, always smiling and kind. The class of 73 lost a wonderful classmate. Prayers and sympathy for his loved ones left behind.
