Jessie Ruth Osborne

Marion, Va. Jessie Ruth Pugh Osborne, age 95, died Thursday, September 15, 2016 at Francis Marion Manor, Marion Va. She was born March 26, 1921 in Grayson County, Va. to the late Bob and Winnie Reedy Pugh. Ruth was a humorous person; one to keep you laughing. She had a special friend named Jake that no one knew or met except for herself and Morris. Though imaginary, he was very real to her and kept everyone in suspense. Ruth loved to sing, but above all, she was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and friend to all who knew her. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, John Henry Osborne; brother, Lester Pugh; and sister, Rena Jones. Mrs. Osborne is survived by her daughter, Christine “Marie” Price and husband Willis of Bristol, Va.; son, Henry “Morris” Osborne and wife, Freida of Marion, Va.; three grandchildren, Tim Osborne, Gary Taylor and, Dana Brooks; and eight great-grandchildren. Graveside services will be held Monday, September 19, 2016 at 2 p.m. in Rose Lawn Mausoleum with Pastor Doug Halsey officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at Rose Lawn Mausoleum. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the charity of your choice.
