GLADE SPRING, Va. Brenda McFarlane, age 68, died Saturday, August 13, 2016 at her home. Brenda was a wonderful mother, grandmother, sister and friend. She was always happy and upbeat; she was crazy about her family, friends and church, Highlands Fellowship in Abingdon, Va. Always smiling, Brenda was fittingly serving on Highland’s First Impression Team and the Prayer Ministry. Brenda knew in who she believed, and knew her God would be faithful to her through any of life’s circumstances. That was her testimony, 2 Timothy 1:12 – a testimony and promise that was lived. Brenda had many friends from all over; she will be remembered and missed daily. She was preceded in death by her husband, Troy McFarlane and several brothers and sisters. Brenda is survived by her son, Greg McFarlane and wife, Melissa of Glade Spring, Va.; brother, Ronnie Byrd and wife, Lucille of Adwolfe, Va.; two grandchildren, Madison McFarlane and Hunter McFarlane; special niece, Jamie Pike of Marion, Va.; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral Services will be held Tuesday, August 16, 2016 at 7 p.m. at Seaver-Brown Chapel with the Reverend Ron Gilbert officiating. Burial will be private.
