Adrain Bentley

CHILHOWIE, Va.: ADRAIN JANE "SUPERMOM" BENTLEY, age 71, died Wednesday, November 11, 2015 at Smyth County Community Hospital. Jane absolutely loved her family. She would have done anything for her four girls and her number one son. She was a loving super-mom to many at Wythe Raceway, mom to her kids and Nanny Jane to her grandchildren. She was a care taker in every sense of the word. Jane would put others needs in front of her own and everyone loved her canned foods. She was fun and loud and outspoken, but she was the glue that kept her family together. She was a Baptist by faith. Jane will be missed by so many family and friends forever and ever. She was preceded in death by her mother, Evelyn Blevins; nanny, Etta Bailey; and sister, Etta Rhea Altizer. Jane is survived by her husband of 53 years, George H. Bentley of Chilhowie, Va.; four daughters, Ellen Myers and husband Jeff, Melissa Holmes and companion, John Simons, all of Marion, Va., Brenda Lee Keller of Saltville, Va., and Marietta Carlin and husband, John of Chilhowie, Va.; son, Eddie Bentley and wife, Anita of Sugar Grove, Va.; brother, David Blevins and wife, Carol of Rural Retreat, Va.; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, John Bentley and wife, Linda, Larry Hanshew, Donna Shupe, Nancy Smith and Neely Armstrong; 14 grandchildren, Jennifer Langley and husband, Chris, Adam Myers and fiancé Shaina Carter, Jonathan Bentley and wife, Ashton, Jessica Dempsey and husband, Terry, Sarah Holmes, Brandon Cox, Coby Cox, Daniel Richardson, Michael Richardson, Amanda Aker, Dewayne Pickle and wife, Keshia, Kayla Hayden and husband, Chris, Tyler Croson and companion Beka Hayes, Klarissa Croson and companion Ethan Mason; 19 great-grandchildren; special friends, Renna and Ambers Haga, Brenda Tanner and Karen Blevins; and her cat Miss Dolly. Funeral services will be held Friday, November 13 at 8 p.m. at Seaver-Brown Chapel with Pastor Don Medley officiating. Graveside services will be held Saturday, November 14, 2015 at 2 p.m. at Sharon Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends Friday from 6 until 8 p.m. at Seaver-Brown Chapel. Expressions of sympathy may be made to the family at www.seaverbrown.com. Seaver-Brown Funeral Service and Crematory is honored to serve the Bentley Family.

My Mom and Step-dad Betty and Henry Spriggs worked with Georg and Janie at Visador. I started working there in 1979 and Janie was one of the first people my Mom introduced me to. I have to say I'm glad she did. Janie was a very funny lady and someone easy to talk to I'm so sorry that Miss Janie is no longer with us but the Lord needed another angel. He looked around until He saw the one He wanted and that one was Miss Janie Bentley.

Janie is family whether by blood or not. She claimed you, your kids, your grandkids.........she was nanny or "Super Mom" to all. I can't begin to imagine how much you'll be missed Janie.

I'm very sorry to hear that Jane has gone on to her heavenly home. I worked with her for about 6.5 years. She was a special person. I enjoyed working with Jane, loved talking to her when I could. Rest in peace my friend, you deserve it.

Jane was my mom's nurse at FMM , dressed her every morning for years, took care of her as if she were her own mom. I was and will always be grateful to this wonderful caregiver. She will live forever in my heart! I share your grief, and I pray that God will be your constant companion in this time of loss. With sincere sympathy, Annette M. Scott, daughter of Eleanor McDonald.
